Hace muchos muchos años, siendo estudiantes de preparatoria, mis amigos y yo conocimos un juego que para mi significó la oportunidad ideal para sacar los mundos e historias que poblaban mi cabeza. Dungeons and Dragons, conocido en español como Calabozos y Dragones. A partir de ahí las reuniones constantes para explorar antiguas cavernas, huir de fortalezas llenas de hordas enemigas y cabalgar estepas interminables (hasta que por supuesto a alguna bestia inmensa se le ocurría cenarse a los caballos, obligando a continuar a pie), fue nuestra actividad constante. Recordábamos con una especial nostalgia estas reuniones mientras nuestras actividades cambiaban del juego a la vida real, de los dados de rol a las herramientas de trabajo de cada uno y de los amigos a los clientes.
Y es ahora, más de diez años después, que hemos vuelto a las andadas. Equipados con mochilas de cuero, antorchas, armaduras y una buena colección de armas (por si "accidentalmente" alguna se extravía), regresamos a las aventuras de entonces, con la ventaja adicional de nuestros sueldos actuales y la sensación de volver a un viejo mundo conocido...
Estas son algunas fichas que dibujé para usarlas en el tablero de juego. Quiero compartir en este blog el material que como Amo del Calabozo constantemente preparo para el juego esperando que a algún grupo de aventureros colegas les sea de utilidad o despierte el interés de algún curioso. Las fichas presentadas son como referencia, pertenecientes al Monster Manual I y el Dark Sun Creature Catalog, propiedad actual de Wizards of the Coast. Y ahora, ¡a preparar la sesión de mañana!

Long time ago, when I was a high school student, me and my friends met a game that gave me the perfect change to bring out the worlds and stories inside my head. Dungeons and Dragons, known in spanish as Calabozos y Dragones. Thereafter our normal activity consisted on exploring ancient caves, escape from foe infested fortresses and ride through endless plains (until some huge hungry beast had the great idea of eating our horses forcing us to keep on feet). We remember with a warm nostalgia those meetings, watching how our normal activities changed from gaming to real life, from dices to working tools and from friends to clients.
And now, more than ten years latter, we are here again. Armed with leather backpacks, torches, armors and a good collection of weapons (just in case some of them got "lost") we come back to the adventure, with the extra advantage of each others salary and the great feeling of coming back to an old loved world.
This are some tokens I drew for use them on the battle grid. I want to share here some of the material that as a Dungeon Master I constantly prepare, hoping that some fellow adventurers could use it, or maybe to wake up the curiosity of some visitor. The tables are presented as a reference from the Monster Manual I and the Dark Sun Compendium Catalog copyrighted by Wizards of the Coast. And now, to prepare tomorrows game session!
